Is Praise and Worship Unclear to You?

Unknowingly, many believers have been abducted by religion.  And like an innocent child that was enticed and made to believe everything would be okay with their abducter, many have been lured away from relationship and have come to know religion as their only spiritual parent.

Paul teaches us in the epistle to the Colossians,in chapter 2, verse 8:

"Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ."

This epistle was sent because of some difficulties which came about among the Colossian believers. Difficulties that were borne by false Jewish teachers, in consequence of which they sent to the apostle. Paul wrote this letter to show the saints that all hope of man's redemption is founded on Christ, in whom alone are all complete fulness, perfections, and sufficiency. The Colossians were warned against the devices of judaizing teachers, and also against the notions of their carnal wisdom, and human inventions and traditions which were not at all consistent with true Christian faith and having full reliance upon Christ.

Though the majority (if not all) of Christians are not confronted with such teachings of the false judaizing teachers, they are nevertheless exposed to new traditions and carnal philosophies which have been inspired and developed by fleshly Christian men.
These traditions and philosophies or religious practices do nothing but keep men in bondage and hinder them from experiencing the total liberty that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. This is the reason there are many believers today who confess the ideal of absolute liberty in Christ yet display the bondage that their traditions and philosophies bring -- they say they're free, they say they're delivered only because they've been taught that such a condition is freedom, but the fact remains that they are bound inwardly. These are the types of believers that constantly ponder the thought "there's got to be more to God than this!" And true enough, there is more to God than what they are experiencing.

What we must understand is that in serving Christ, liberty is absolute. If no liberty is experienced this indicates that a carnal law is in effect. Carnal laws do nothing but bind and hold victims captive. Unknowingly these laws have been developed by religious institutions to govern the believer in their relationship with their particular church organization.
We must be careful how we serve under our churches and ministries. Though policies, rules, and doctrines are formed with the intent that believers abide by the Word of God, care must be exercised to ensure believers obey by faith and not obey because it is "church law." Herein is the difference between a Christian who is free and one that is bound. The free believer exercises faith in their obedience to church doctrine in all that he or she does for their church or minstry. Their labors are done with their hearts yielded to God in love -- in this, God is pleased. On the otherhand, those who are bound tend to follow the church's rules and regulations; displaying an outward obedience, but their heart is not yielded to God in faith and love toward Him in all that they do -- in this, God never had pleasure. Faith causes freedom while law imposes bondage. Hebrews 10:6-9:

"In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin thou hast had no pleasure. Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God. Above when he said, Sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and offering for sin thou wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure therein; which are offered by the law; Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second."

The child of God must change their attitude toward the church's scriptural policies. They must begin to offer themselves to God and not the institution. They must have in the forefront of their minds that they are serving our Lord and not man or institution. This will produce gratefulness and reduce regret on the part of believer in doing church-work. Afterall, God doesn't care how well you follow the rule when you heart is not given to Him in what you do. He's looking at how you yield your heart to Him when you do what you do for your church or ministry. Hebrews 10:38:

"Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him."

True and pure faith in God causes one to naturally experience absolute liberty, victory, and joy in Christ while spoiled faith cause one to camouflage their incomplete life, bondage, unhappiness, and defeat by dressing it up with all the right confessions and behaviors -- doing this only permits one to live a lie.

Incomplete Are You?

Success in life, whether it's your status in society, the type of job you have, things you've achieved, the possessions you own, and even a good family environment can never bring you to a place of total inward completeness - this only comes from God.

Religious or Intimate

The keeping of a church schedule, or faithfulness to a department in the ministry should never substitute for an intimate relationship with God.  Religion is not the bridge between man and God; relationship is.

His Intentions 4 U

Did you know that life as we live today was never intended to happen?  The type of life man has come to know since Adam's and Eve's fall in the garden of Eden has been the result of sin.  But what would life be if they hadn't sinned?
