Paul teaches us in the epistle to the Colossians,in chapter 2, verse 8: "Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ."
Though the majority (if not all) of Christians are not confronted with such teachings of the false judaizing teachers, they are nevertheless exposed to new traditions and carnal philosophies which have been inspired and developed by fleshly Christian men. What we must understand is that in serving Christ, liberty is absolute. If no liberty is experienced this indicates that a carnal law is in effect. Carnal laws do nothing but bind and hold victims captive. Unknowingly these laws have been developed by religious institutions to govern the believer in their relationship with their particular church organization.
"In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin thou hast had no pleasure. Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God. Above when he said, Sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and offering for sin thou wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure therein; which are offered by the law; Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second."
"Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him."
